DescriptionRating
Unlike traditional The Sims games, MySims Kingdom has a story that ties everything together. Back in the day, the kingdom was populated by wandoliers--wand-wielding citizens whose job was to help those in need--but for some reason, they all retired and no one bothered to hire any more. With the kingdom in disrepair, King Roland decides to find a new wandolier (that would be you) and have him or her shape things up. 7.5 / 10
Kingdom again features a simple character creator in which you intuitively point the Wii remote at various facial and body features to trigger new and different texture sets -- whole faces, hairstyles, shirts and pants. It's not daunting in the least, clearly designed to be as easy to use as possible for a wide variety of gamers. 7.3 / 10
Instead, Kingdom shelves any cleverness, attaching training wheels to your creativity for the first two-thirds of the game. It's not until the last few islands that you're given an invitation to be creative. The building mechanics work well enough for lackadaisical civic planners, but for OCD types like me, frustration sets in quickly C-
